Mignot Toy Soldiers
C.B.G Mignot Miniatures are probably the oldest toy soldier company in existence. Based in Paris France, Mignot started producing their miniatures in 1775 before Napoleon become leader of France. And Mignot are still in business today, now based in Anjou, but still meticulously making their miniature soldiers by hand.
In 1825, the Mignot company acquired the Lucotte molds and began producing some of them as limited editions. Later Mignot examples differ from Lucotte in that they were singly cast, without separate removable parts and accessories. Mignot boasts over 20,000 molds of warriors from Ancient Rome to WWII.
While the CBG Mignot collection is extremely varied , the company produces one era in great detail, the Empire, specializing in the Napoleonic army with soldiers and musicians in a wide variety of uniforms, including exact placement of all instruments, plumes, epaulettes, piping and stripes. These are truly special toy soldiers.
