Barclay Toy Soldier
The Barclay Manufacturing Company was established in 1924 in NJ. From the late Thirties to the mid-1940s they were one of the largest toy soldier companies in the United States. In 1942, the company halted production on their lead miniature soldiers in order to help the war effort and gave their factory over to defense work for the duration of the war. After the war ended, toy production resumed until the company closed in the 1970s.
